About this guide

This site is written by two people who live and work beside Skadar Lake: Marko Vujovic, a Virpazar boatman on the water since 2004, and Ana Perovic, a travel editor from the Crmnica valley.

Everything here comes from first-hand experience. Routes are described because we have run them. Prices are quoted because we checked them at the start of the season and dated the page. Restaurants and guesthouses appear because we eat and sleep in them.

How we handle recommendations

We recommend a small number of operators we work with directly, and we say so openly on every page where they appear. Nobody buys a placement on this site, and no ranking here has ever been paid for.

How we correct mistakes

Water levels change, kitchens close and prices move. If something on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and re-date the page.
