Rijeka Crnojevića: The Meander, the Village and the Viewpoint
The most photographed bend of water in Montenegro, a nineteenth-century bridge, and eleven residents.
45 minutes to Virpazar, 20 to Rijeka Crnojevica · Best for: History, museums, the descent to the lake's north-western arm
Cetinje was the capital of Montenegro when Montenegro was a kingdom, and the old embassies still line its streets. It sits directly above the lake's north-western arm, which makes the Cetinje–Rijeka Crnojevića–Virpazar sequence one of the most efficient half-days in the country.
Twenty minutes to Rijeka Crnojevića on the lake's north-western arm, and about 45 minutes to Virpazar.
Easily. Cetinje in the morning, the meander viewpoint at midday and a Virpazar boat in the afternoon is a well-balanced day.
